Qualifications for MFT Internship

Below you will find the process to obtain licensure in Nevada as a MFT or CPC Intern.

    1. Background Check (this process takes 8 weeks to complete)

    • One fingerprint card (you can be fingerprinted in the state you are in)
    • MONEY ORDER for $40.25 payable to Department of Public Safety
    • Fingerprint Background Waiver (link below)

        2. Application

        3. Copy of ID

        • State issued ID or Driver’s License

        4. Official Conferred Graduate Transcript(s)

        SEND OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS TO THE BOARD OFFICE EITHER ELECTRONICALLY TO:MFTBD2@MFTBD.NV.GOV OR BY MAIL TO:

        An academic review will be completed to ensure you meet the academic requirements for licensure.

        • If your educational program does not meet the requirements, you will be notified via email what courses you need to complete before your application fully processes. 
        • If your educational program meets the requirements, the Academic Requirements - Required Areas of Study step will be verified in your online portal.

          5. Current Copy of Background

          6. Secure a Primary and Secondary Supervisor

          A current list of approved supervisors can be obtained by emailing mftbd2@mftbd.nv.gov.

            7. License Issuance Fee

            Once all required documents and background check results have been received, you will get an email prompting you to log back into your online portal and pay the registration fee for license issuance.

            Payment of $60.00 ($30.00 for military affiliation)
